About Us

Park history:

There has been a caravan park on this site for over 50 years, but it didn’t always look this great. Originally a run down campground owned by the local council and in dire need of TLC - the park’s only real drawcard was its spectacular location.

When the current owners took over, the transformation from the park’s original distressed condition into its current state was remarkable. Tathra Beachside is now not just a great place to visit, it’s a highly visible, vibrant, energised and effective asset to the local economy, with calculated regional economic benefit of $4.1million per annum.

Through the renovation and the subsequent promotion of the park over an eight-year period, the town of Tathra and the whole Sapphire Coast has benefited from increased tourism and a higher profile.

Tathra is a small, committed community. It is passionate about its heritage and its coastal village feel. During the past eight years Tathra Beachside has invested substantially in the local community as well as further afield. They are one of the major sponsors of the Tathra Beach Surf Life Saving Club and the recently introduced February SLS Patrols on Tathra Beach.

Tathra Beachside employs more locals than any other Tathra businsess and believes in giving back to its community. Locally they are proud to support Tathra Wharf to Waves, Tathra Preschool, Primary School, Rural Fire Brigade, Marine Rescue, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Mumbulla Foundation, AFL Club, Junior Rugby League Club, Mountain Bike Enduro event and Fishing Club.

The McGrath Foundation is Tathra Beachside’s local charity of choice helping to fund breast care nurses in our region. Tathra Beachside also donates regularly to The Leukaemia Foundation, Life House Foundation, Australian Paralympics, The Little Gem Foundation, Brain Wave Charity and Jake Price Charity.
